Bucky Blue has been with us for 3 years. He is about 31 years old and has been a joy! Great PR guy and excellent packer. We believe he was one of the last in a pack group and was just abandoned. He was found running loose on one of the roads in the area. Someone called the Bitterroot Humane Association who had him for a month or so and then Bucky was turned over to Safe Haven. He’s Char’s favorite guy and will truly miss him and his services. lets hope we can enjoy him for at least a few more years.
Claire and her cria Jesse. As you can see our Claire has a ton of arthritis in her front legs. We don’t know how old she is as she was rescued from a group that was in a tiny pen for many years. She’s kept as comfortable as possible and now we have her on Elk Velvet to help with her legs.
Izzy is in her 20′s and is blind in one eye. She’d been a guard all her life and many times just left alone. Since coming to Safe Haven, she’s enjoyed being with the other llamas. It took Char and Keven and hour to get her loaded. Poor girl hadn’t had anyone handle her since 2006.
Peek-A-Boo the last of some of the best! She’s one of our old girls. Very personable and wants to know everything and have your attention. We keep doing what we can for her to keep her going as she’s showing age.
This little Llama is Pedro! He’s a 16 year old Gelding. Email us!
Pepper. I remember seeing her in her original herd. She’ll be 19 this year. If you hear talking (humming) around the barn, it’s Pepper! “Ms Vocal” She ended up being with horses and when the horses left, she came to us. She also LOVES to be scratched. Quite the gal!
